Guidelines for Make-up Examinations
At the July 28, 2014 meeting of the ICT Faculty Committee, the following guidelines were established concerning make-up examinations.
1. The word “examination” is defined in this document to mean midterm or final exam.
2. The word “absent” is defined as not being in attendance at a scheduled examination.
3. When a student is absent from an examination, he/she must submit a petition (request form) and any documentary evidence to Academic Affairs within 7 days of the last day of the exam period.
4. The Academic Affairs team will process the petition to submit to the Deputy Dean for Education Affairs, who will decide on the validity of the petition.
5. The Academic Affairs team will announce the results of the petition no later than 1 week after the end of the petition period.
6. If the petition has been approved, the student must pay a fee of 2,000 baht per approved subject within one additional week.
7. The Academic Affairs team will announce the make-up exam dates.
8. The make-up exams will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
8.1 Sickness or other valid personal emergency situation = full achieved score, no penalty
8.2 Other allowed, but non-emergency reason = 70% of achieved score
8.3 If not allowed, or if no petition has been received under these guidelines, no score will be given for the exam.
9. In the event that a student is on official university or faculty business, they will be allowed to make up the exam for the actual score received with no additional fee.
10. The Deputy Dean for Education Affairs will file a report to the Faculty Committee after the completion of each exam period.
11. In the case of conditions not addressed in these guidelines, the Dean of the Faculty has the authority to make the decision.
