Police arrest chicken who crossed the road
In their defense, the chicken was jaywalking, and the officer was doing his job.
Police in Corpus Christi, Texas, collared a chicken on the 1600 block of Agnes Street at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014. Officer David Saldana witnessed the chicken allegedly cross the road outside the crosswalk and attempted to detain it. The chicken then reportedly fled on foot, jumping into the open window of a nearby vehicle. Thankfully, the vehicle was unoccupied and there were no keys in the ignition.
Officer Saldana was able to capture the wily bird, and place it in his patrol car. The chicken, identified only as a Black Australorp, was turned over to Animal Care Services. “Case closed.”
Extraordinarily, the entire arrest, which has since earned Saldana the moniker “Chicken Hawk,” was captured on camera, and is shown below.
