This study has found that, of the recent agri-environmental
schemes introduced into Britain, the greatest
numbers of potential prey for barn owls were captured in
2 m field margins from the CSS. However, although this
trend was consistent in both trapping years, it was not
significant when considering all captures (but some
comparisons involving just common shrews were significant).
