The ARIS concept of data and information is that it is always stored somewhere, either in an electronic medium (e.g. a file or magnetic tape) or in non- electronic media (e.g. a FAX or card file). These are represented in ARIS by the Information carrier. There is only one Information carrier object , but there are a variety of alternative symbols representing different types of data storage media. Some of these are clearly physical data stores (e.g. FAX, file), while other are more abstract, for instance, data imparted via a telephone call or through someone’s expertise
