1. Introduction
Sand tray therapy has long been valued as a means for clients to express their inner world by giving it shape and symbolism in the sand. This can be especially valuable when working in a cross-cultural context. The sand tray allows the therapist to explore an inner world together with the client, and literally see the client’s interpretation of events and relationships through symbols and projections in the sand. This paper will discuss the sand tray method.
with examples to illustrate the use of sand tray in a cross-cultural context and demonstrate that sand tray is an effective way for therapists to engage in emotional healing and diagnostic insight in a multicultural setting
