The disease-causing agent was identified as Ramularia spp. Studies conducted by local boards of plant health found a 100% disease incidence in the crop, which generated 36.4% of yield reduction during this cycle (CESAVESON, 2004). For the 2004-2005 crop cycles, the disease was present immediately after the emergence of the plant, six weeks before compared to
previous cycles (CESAVESON, 2006).
