It was found that 35 samples, out of 108, were found
to be contaminated with some of the organophosphate
pesticides, studied. Profenofos was found to be the
maximum in the analyzed samples of okra (25%), egg plant
(17%) and pumpkins (5%), where as, Chlorpyrifos was
found to be the second most common op pesticide in the
vegetable. It was observed that frequency of pesticide
residues detection in the okra was directly related to their
usage in the area.
