For the investigation of effect of different solvent systems, the ground sample (1gm) was extracted in 20 ml of the solvent in 125 ml capacity identical conical flasks using water bath shaker at 400C for 12 hours. The flask was covered with polyethylene film to make air tight and wrapped with aluminum foil to protect from light. The different solvents used were methanol, ethanol, acetone at three different concentrations (50%, 80%, and 100%) and 100% distilled water. The crude extracts were filtered through Whatman No. 1 filter paper, and the residues were washed with the
corresponding solvents to maintain 50 ml final volume of the filtrate. In the second part of this work, the effects of different extraction techniques were studied.
