high C/N ratio. This high carbon-nitrogen ratio favors the
growth of PHA producing bacteria. It is the first time that
cardboard industry waste water is used for the isolation,
screening, and production of polyhydroxyalkanoates. This
waste has high BOD and COD values 680–1250mg/L and
3400–5780mg/L andCOD/BODratio between 3.9 and 5,
which is suitable for microbial growth.
