Growth performance and nutrient digestibility
In this study, a marginally positive effect on growth performance
was observed during 0 to 3 weeks and the overall
period. These results are partially in agreement with Kook
et al. (2002a, b), who reported that ADG and G:F were greater
in finishing pigs and ducks when 2% bamboo vinegar liquids
were supplemented. Previous study has suggested that bamboo
vinegar is a naturally derived liquid obtained from the
condensation that occurs during the production of bamboo
charcoal, and is comprised principally of more than 200 compounds,
with the acetic acid to be the main one (Ruttanavut
et al., 2009). Baimark and Niamsa (2009) also proposed that
BV had a higher antifungal efficiency than both acetic acid
