In our study, we found an association between a high level of education and continued breastfeeding. One study16 that explored breastfeeding intention of female physicians suggested that mothers' education may influence their breastfeeding duration and found that their intentions and knowledge correlated with their breastfeeding initiation practices. Women employed as professionals breastfeed longer than other working mothers.17,18 In our study, it is possible that white-collar working mothers have more control over their environment and schedules and are able to combine breastfeeding and working more successfully than blue-collar working mothers.
