Besides, 2623 t of pollutants were emitted to the Malaysian
atmosphere in 2010 [25]. The air pollutants included ozone (O3),
carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and particulate matter (PM10). These air pollutants were
mainly generated by the mobile sources (1830 t), power plants
(619 t) industrial activities (114 t), and others (61 t) as illustrated
in Fig. 3. The mobile sources or the modes of transportation were
contributed the major share of pollutant emissions and showed a
faster growth rate than other sectors [26].
