Teacher of Maths
We are looking to recruit an excellent part time teacher of Maths for a position starting in January or Easter 2016 working Thursday and Friday's. You will be working in an Ofsted 'Good' Secondary school based in South East London.
The School is an 11-18 non-selective school in the London Borough of Bexley. The school has an annual year 7 intake of 210 students and the total number on roll is 1350. This includes a large mixed 6th form. The school has Academy status and it is also a member of an Academies Trust. In September 2012 the school opened a new building which houses the new performing arts space and a provision for SEN students.
In 2014, 73% of students in year 11 achieved five or more GCSE A*-C grades. The results over the last five years show consistency within the high performing school. The levels of progress of the students in key subject areas are also above the national average.
The Maths department consist of 12 members of staff both full time and part time. The success of the school in all areas can best be explained by a combination of a committed and high quality staff with high expectations of students in everything they do. The school are keen to hear from Maths teachers who believe that self-discipline and respect will lead to success within their classes.
The successful candidate will need have excellent subject knowledge. Possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference in every class you will teach. Have relevant teaching experience of Maths and be able to demonstrate this quality.
If interested in this role you must have the following:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or oversea trained.
- PGCE in Maths or degree level equivalent
- Extensive experience teaching KS3 and KS4
- Experience in a secondary school within the last two years
- Excellent subject knowledge
- Proven track record of raising attainment and keeping standards high
