A slow-moving storm system will bring rounds of rain to parts of the Mediterranean from eastern Spain to Italy this week.
The repeating rounds of rain will heighten the risk for flooding as the ground becomes more saturated.
The greatest threat for flooding will be on Wednesday and Thursday as low pressure moves across the northern Mediterranean, spreading a period of locally heavy rainfall from northeastern Spain into northern Italy.
Areas from Montpellier to Marseille, Monaco, Genoa and Milan should be on alert for potential flooding.
