Purpose of this tool:
- Evaluates an individual’s current competency level, based on their roles, responsibilities and performance;
- Provides a measure of capability and seniority relative to peers;
- Complements any existing skills matrices;
- Helps managers effectively manage and deploy their personnel;
- Aids mobility through greater common understanding of competency levels across locations and regions;
- Can indicate when a person is ready to take on more challenge or is ready for promotion;
- Fulfills competency assessment requirements per EMS.
This is not meant to replace existing:
- Skills Matrices (also known as Capability Matrices);
- Performance management tools;
- Career planning or learning and development tools."
