After its second general election in 1998, Cambodia resumed its membership in the United Nations in December of the same year. In 1999, it officially joined ASEAN to become the tenth member country. Cambodia's main industries are agriculture and tourism. The World Heritage Site of Angkor attracts an especially large number of tourists every year.
