As the legend goes, the villagers of Sung Gus Nakorn were very delighted when the Buddha returned so they came to give food offerings to him. In other words, Tak Bat Devo means “offering of food to Buddhist monks”. The celebration is an imitation of Lord Buddha’s descent from heaven. This event was called Tak Bat Devorohana and later named Tak Bat Devo. The ceremony is done at the end of the Buddhist Lent.
