Abstract
Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Environment (VE) are becoming trends in the digital world. Nowadays, many global business entities shifts their marketing tools towards this sci-fi style. Augmented reality is the integration of digital data which include text, video, animation and 3D with the live video in real-time. Virtual environment is a fully 3D synthesis scene that can be interact in real-time. Both AR and VE currently have been used widely in many application in field of education, advertisement, engineering and medical. In this keynote speech, current state-of-the-art in AR nad VE will be presented. This including trends, challenges and research gap of the future technology development. Samples will be drawn from research that being conducted at MaGICX and other popular research lab globally. Research and development work of AR and VE performed by our team will be highlighted.
