Customizing the User Environment
The next stage in the installation process is to customize the user environment. Continue with the installation by following these steps:
1. Press Return.
The system displays the following:
INTERSPAN Network Manager Installation Procedure
1. Install INTERSPAN Network Manager Application.
2. Customize User Environment.
q. Quit
Select one of the above (1 - 2, q):
2. Type 2 to begin customizing user environments, and press Return.
The system displays the following:
This portion of the install procedure will customize user environments for INTERSPAN Network Manager use. The related files are:
profile
SNMdefaults
InmDefaults
Enter the login for each new INTERSPAN Network Manager user; the updates to these files will be made automatically. After the last login is processed, press return when another user login is requested and the install procedure will exit.

3.Do one of the following:
If you are customizing the user environment after the initial installation session, follow these steps:
a) Enter the user login id for a new INTERSPAN Network Manager user and press Return. The system displays the following:
Please enter the directory where the INTER SPAN Network Manager software was installed ->
b) Enter the name of the directory where the InterSpan Network Manager software was installed initially and press Return. The system displays the following:
You have indicated that INTERSPAN Network Manager was installed in /usr/xxx,
Is this correct? (y/n)
/usr/xxx is replaced with the directory name where the Network Manager software was installed.
c) Type y and press Return. The system displays the following:
User (xx) environment customized successfully.
Enter the user login id for a new user [Press Return when finished]
xx is the login id for the new INTERSPAN Network Manager user.
If this is the initial installation session, The system displays the following:
User (xx) environment customized successfully.
Enter the user login id for a new user [Press Return when finished]
where (xx) is the login id for the new INTERSPAN Network Manager user.
4. Continue entering a new login id until you are finished adding users. When you are finished, press Return.
NOTE:
After a new user environment has been customized, the .profile file must be re-executed before starting the INTERSPAN Network Manager application.
