that, 26 plant species received a high score, followed by 16 plant
species scoring medium and 8 plant species scoring low (Table 2).
Further prioritization and categorization was carried out based on
their multiple use value (ecological, economical, medicinal, salinity
tolerance and nitrogen fixation) and revealed that 4 plant species
received a high scoring value followed by 24 plant species receiving
a medium score and 22 plant species receiving a low scoring
value among the prioritized plant species (Table 3). In a separate
exercise we prioritized and observed the survival percentage and
adaptation rate of these selected native plant species based on
impact of climatic variability/weather condition. The meteorological
data such as temperature, humidity and rainfall was observed
on a monthly basis and the impact of climatic variability/weather
conditions was assessed on the survival percentage and adaptation
potential of selected plants in the region. The results revealed that
13 plant species received high scoring value followed by 26 plant
species received medium score and 11 plant species showed low
scoring value for survival percentage and adaptation rate in different
weather condition among the prioritized native plant species
