Vision
For the self- sufficiency of domestic consumption with an annual increasing population and export excess produce, DOA is taking part its main task-force of transferring technologies to the farmers for getting better economic returns by increasing yield per area and improving crop quality in accordance with six key factors for the development of production of main crops such as rice, corn, ground-nut, sesame, sunflower, mustard and niger, and pulses, and, chili, onion, garlic and potato as culinary crops.
“Six key priorities”were set to ensure the development of the crop subsector:
(i)Strengthening of profitable and sustainable market for farmers
(ii)Utilization of good quality seeds to produce quality products for higher price
(iii)Utilization of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)
(iv)Application of agricultural inputs such as irrigation water, chemical and natural fertilizers efficiently
(v)Encourage to establish agrobased- industry which can be produced value-added product.from agricultural raw produce
(vi)Reduction of production costs and transactional costs along the supply chain
(from seeding to marketing)
