The study utilized the quasi-experimental model with a post-test control group. The two groups, one
test and the other control, were formed by unbiased assigning, and both were applied the post-test only. The
prospective teachers studying at Education Faculty, Science Education Department constituted the
population of the research, and 37 prospective teachers studying their second year at Science Education
Department constituted the sampling of the research. The application of the study was performed in the
General Biology II in the spring term of the academic year 2008-2009. 24 candidates were men and 13
candidates were women. 19 candidates participated in the control group and 18 candidates participated in
the test group. The measurement instrument called Scientific Process Skills Measurement Instrument – II
developed by Özer (2011) was used in the study.
