The mean values of the drying shrinkage strains, measured on the
basis of the measurement lengths, shown in Fig. 4, are depicted in
Fig. 13. The shrinkage strains measured at the upper and lower region
of the brick-shaped specimen attained the expected final value of
about−0.5‰(standard deviations of 0.03‰and 0.05‰, respectively)
after about 600 days of drying at 65% RH. Expectedly, in the middle
region of the specimen the evolution of the drying shrinkage strain
(standard deviation 0.03‰) was somewhat delayed with respect to
the upper and lower region.
