Employees in businesses that have been e-commerce enabled by a digital agency can benefit from the transfer of knowledge and skills from their agency partner - although digital agencies do not always have the capacity to sustain this over longer periods of time. These digital agencies report that they themselves have difficulty in recruiting staff with the required range of skills for e-commerce and resort to in-house development and training for new entrants. They see this as a limiting factor in the longer-term development of e-commerce among Scottish business.
