While it’s true that we’re eventually implementing pages in web design, focusing on the design and style specifications for a homepage often causes us to ignore those for interior pages. The propensity to “one-off ” a component to fit the page is fairly high, which can contribute to an inconsistent experience across the site. By establishing components prior to pages, we collect all the Legos we’ll need for building castles, cars, and pretty much anything else we’ll ever need.
