2.4. Energy dispersi¨e X-ray fluorescence
spectrometry
The solid samples pellets and filters. were
analysed in triplicate, using a Si]Li detector with
an integrated amplifier and a resolution of 185
eV FWHM. at 5.9 keV. The water standards
were prepared with Titrisol standard solutions,
then processed by the APDC precipitation technique
under the same conditions than the solid
samples. Two 238Pu radioactive sources with a
13.612-keV excitation energy were used for a
counting time of 1000 s. The areas of each particular
element were obtained by the AXIL software
Van Espen et al., 1993., and metal concentration
was determined with the SAX software using a
Compton correction Vald´es and Jaramillo, 1994..
