climate which enables development of the larvae in the vectors(Kalluri et al., 2007; Medlock et al., 2007), the areas included in our study were characterized by a temperate-continental climate.Periodic epidemiological studies are necessary in order to assess
changes in the prevalence of Dirofilaria spp. infections.
