Early Modes
No specific treatment of A. phalloides-type
poisoning has been available in the past. The
only treatment available has been supportive, including
correction of fluid, metabolic and coagulation
disturbances. Induction of emesis is not
beneficial, unless it is done soon after ingestion,
because of the long interval between ingestion
and the appearance of symptoms. Cathartics and
activated charcoal have been recommended,14 although
there is no proof of their usefulness in the
treatment of A. phalloides-type poisoning
