3. RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS
A. Comparison from statistical index
For the comparison of rainfall data between TRMM and
rain gauges, we analysis the several statistical index of two
types of rainfall firstly as Table 1 shows. The maximal daily
rainfall from TRMM data are 157.83 mm, 70.02 mm, 82.21
mm, 87.44 mm, 78.06 mm and 115.15 mm respectively in
1998-2003, while they are 146.22 mm, 147.8 mm, 175.08 mm,
103.08 mm, 70.46 mm and 88.96 mm respectively for rain
gauges data. The deviation are distinctly and innegligible for
flood forecast. Also the maximal 5-day rainfall is included in
the statistical table and the difference of two rainfall data are
between 25-160 mm. It is obvious that the maximal 5-day
rainfalls from TRMM data are lower than that from rain
gauges data except in 2002 and 2003. Moreover, the annual
rainfalls from two rainfall data are compared each other in
every year. The similar results are found that annual rainfalls
from TRMM data are smaller than that from rain gauges data
in 1998-2000, but larger than the latter in 2001-2003.
