In this study, pyrolysis of corncob was investigated in a fixed-bed reactor. Particularly, the influence of final pyrol- ysis temperature, heating rate and sweep gas velocity on the product yields were studied. In addition, the bio-oil obtained under the condition of maximum liquid product yield was investigated using some spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques such as 1H-NMR, FTIR, elemental analysis, calorific value, and column chromatography to determine its possi- bility of being a potential source of renewable fuel and chemical feedstock.
