Dry Chemical Extinguishing Agents
Dry chemical extinguishing agents have consist of dry
powdered chemical formulations that are stored in moisture
proof containers and applied to the fore pneumatically when
the container is pressurized. They are stable at very low and at
normal ambient temperatures, but at higher temperatures
they may melt and become sticky. They are effective nontoxic,
and do not freeze. Sodium bicarbonate was the first chemical
extinguishing agent and became standard because of its
greater effectiveness
