While movies are the most abundant information bank among all media forms, they are ideal materials for language learning [2]; they can also serve as a perfect source for construction an illustrated movie-based lexicon system (which will be referred to as imLexicon hereinafter) with rich background information. The method proposed in this paper uses snapshots of movie scenes (whose subtitle contains the inquiry word or phrase) together with the word explanation and subtitle text, as the main content of the dictionary, and presents them through a B/S interfaced. This paper discusses the software architecture design & implementation approach of the imLexicon system.
