3.4. Influence of gelation temperature on morphology of ZrB2
It is well known that the gelation temperature is an important factor for both nucleation and crystal feature. Here, different gelation temperatures of 65, 75, and 85 °C were fixed to synthesize ZrB2 powder. Fig. 4 shows XRD patterns of the powder precursor calcined at 1550 °C for 2 h with different gelation temperature and a molar ratio of B/Zr=2.3. It might be seen that all of the diffraction peaks were well assigned to a single phase of ZrB2.
