Discussion This study assessed the magnitude of differences in parenting style between women who had conceived -using IVF and those who had conceived naturally. A meta-analysis -revealed that IVF women used slightly greater controlling parenting behaviors than their NC counterparts. No significant differences '
The Warmth Dimension of Parenting Behavior The findings of this study are consistent with previous review articles (Colpin, 2002; Golombok & MacCallum, 2003). Although researchers have suggested that IVF may delay a woman’s attachment to her fetus during early pregnancy and result in her showing lower parental sensitivity toward her child, this meta-analysis revealed no difference between IVF women and NC women in terms of either warmth in parenting behavior or rejection in parenting behavior. Whereas IVF may potentially interfere with affectional bonding between a mother and her child, IVF does not appear to impact the ability of mothers to express acceptance and warmth toward their child
