For studying the effect of various carbon source on protease production, glucose of the PPM was replaced with different carbon sources (@ 0.5%, w/v) which were either refined ones (lactose and sucrose) or crude sub-strates of agricultural origin viz. wheat bran, rice bran or rice husk.
