Methods
This was a cross-sectional study evaluating the prevalence
of dyslipidemia and associated factors in patients
undergoing liver transplantation monitored at the
transplant outpatient clinic at the Alfa Institute of Gastroenterology,
Hospital das Clínicas, Federal University
of Minas Gerais (Belo Horizonte – MG, Brazil). The
study included patients who underwent transplantation,
aged over 18 years, who had regular follow-ups at
the clinic. Pregnant women, patients with ascites and/
or patients with less than one year since transplantation
were excluded. The study was approved by the
Ethics Committee at the Federal University of Minas
Gerais under report no. ETIC 44/08.
