Strategy implementation is made up of the existence of a formal
board, management team quality, and possessing HR skills. Sixty
seven percent of DS firms indicate that the quality of their management
team is either very good or excellent, while only 48% of NODS
makes that claim. The results show no significant difference in the
use of formal boards and human resource management skills.
Integrating the results of our survey with the information collected
through interviews, we refined our conceptual model. Table 3 summarizes
the main distinguishing features of Latin American agribusinesses
implementing DS strategies.
Fig. 4 illustrates how the different dimensions of the model may
interact. DS companies invest more in innovation, which helps them
develop new products and processes and improve their operations.
