Co-founders Raaja Nemani and Aaron Firestein met by chance while volunteering in Argentina. Aaron was an artist living in Buenos Aires and Raaja was taking a year to backpack around the world. Before Raaja left Argentina, Aaron gave him a pair of hand-designed canvas sneakers inspired by the city blocks of Buenos Aires. Throughout the remainder of Raaja's journey, this simple pair of shoes sparked hundreds of conversations across six continents with people of all races, religions, genders, and cultures.
Two years later -- and convinced by the power of art to bring people together and connect -- Nemani and Firestein joined forces to launch Bucketfeet in 2011.
Today, Bucketfeet is a footwear company that collaborates with a global community of artists to design limited-edition shoes, spark conversations, and create a brighter world.
