We also find that correlations of centroid2 with the sum of sunspot area are not insignificant when the data point corresponding to the solar cycle 19 is not considered. That is, a linear correlation coefficient r and chance probability P, a Spearman rank-order correlation value rs and its probability P(rs,N), and Kendall’s s and the probability Ps are r ’ 0.66 with P = 0.013, rs ’ 0.75 with P(rs,N) = 0.004, and s ’ 0.56 with Ps = 0.016, respectively. When the data point corresponding to the solar cycle 19 is taken into account, the data does not show correlations any more for both centroid1 and centroid2. A summary of resulting values are shown in Table 1.
