Observation of different banana cultivars/types for the rhizospheric nematode fauna indicated that cooking types, Musa (ABB) cv. Kanchakala and Musa (BBB) cv. Seed Banana supported a huge population (J2 299–996 per 200 cc soil) of root-knot nematode, M. incognita (Table 3). This nematode induced severe root galling symptoms.
