Introduction
Amongst hydrocarbon pollutants, diesel oil (a
complex mixture of alkanes and aromatic compounds)
is a frequently reported soil contaminant
leaking from storage tanks and pipelines or released
in accidental spills (Gallego et al., 2001).
Bioremediation is considered the best approach for
restoring diesel oil contaminated soils in that the
technology is cost-effective and environmentally
desirable.
