Behind the equestrian statue is Anantasamakom Throne Hall, whice was buit at the command of king Rama V for visiting foreign dignitaries and for statue council meeting. This Throne Hall is also a part of the Suan Dusit Palace. When King Rama VII affixed his signature to give Thai people their constitution in 1932, the first meeting of the Thai parliament was conducted in this hall.
The marble Throne Hall was constructed in the Italian Renaissance style under the supervision of Phraya Yomaraj and Italian engineers and architects. The building was built from carved Carrama marble imported from Italy.
