In Bangladesh, though there are labor laws maintaining
Occupational Health and Safety [34], the overall
standards found in the factories are low due to the
laxity of labor laws enforcement, and the owners not
taking responsibility for maintaining and optimizing
working conditions [8]. One recent positive tendency is
that reputable garment factory owners are trying to improve
the quality of the health and safety of the workers
due to pressure by the buyers to maintain a strong
reputation for the company.
