I've used the Soulution 710 and the 711 on the Magico Q7s, and am now using the 701 monos with the Q7mkIIs. I would not characterize the performance of the 701 with the Q7mkII in my room as dry or dryer by any stretch of the word. In fact, I'm also using a set of Absolare SETs with the Q7mkIIs and both combos are very musical, rich and even magical. The 701s and the Absolares both produce with the Q7mkIIs the best sound by far that I have ever heard in my room. Period.
I know by direct experience that the sound of a system can vary by a wide margin depending on the quality and synergy of the audio components, power, isolation and room characteristics.
One change in a critical system characteristic can make a significant change in its sound. A great system that sounds incredible can sound average or mediocre with just one change, and vice-a-versa. To make such general statements about a great amplifier and it's ability to match with a great speaker leaves me nonplussed.
