The company logo a reminder of heritage.
Our distinctive red logo depicts the Sao Ching Cha, or the Giant Swing, historically used in annual Brahmanic rituals in honor of Lord Shiva. It was built in 1784 by King Rama I to usher in Bangkok’s prosperity and stability when it became Siam’s new capital. Therefore, the logo can be regarded as a symbol of good fortune and prosperity.
After more than two centuries, the company donated golden teak timber used to replace the new structure, erected on 12 April 1920 during the reign of King Rama VI. This donation was a fitting tribute in memory of Louis T. Leonowens Esq., who founded the country’s largest teak lumber exporting company, and passed away in 1919. Although the rituals were discontinued in 1933, the Giant Swing remains a significant cultural icon.
