An individuals success in freestyle depends on a number of things:
1)the smoothness in the way one arm stakes over from the other for each pull;
2)a high in-the-water body position throughout;
3)good body alignment,first on one side and then on the other;
4)balanced movements (right arm same as the left,same amount of bend);
5)good head position and ease of breathing to either side;
6)economical use of the legs.
