Talk to children, and encourage children to be free with you in verbalizing their
thoughts.
• Empathise with them using your or some other adult’s childhood experiences.
• Watch the programmes which your child is scared off and explain the make believe
aspect of it, that it is not for real.
• Venture into the dark with your child.
• Talk to your child’s teacher, if in school, else read, discuss the situation with people
instead of tackling with the situation all by yourself.
