The primer prepared by Kim and Jeong (2001) using the
16S rRNA region of V. fluvialis was sensitive down to 5 pg ml-1, while
the PCR using the specific genes of E. coli, Salmonella typhimiruim,
V. cholerae and V. parahaemolyticus respectively was sensitive
down to 100 fg ml-1. Hence it can be said that the PCR sensitivity of
the present study is far more outstanding.
