In Chapter 3, a general
discussion of the dimension of the change, adaptive strategies and the link to human
resource management is presented. Chapter 4 discusses human resource management
practices of nonprofit organizations, with a specific focus on the functions relevant to this
study. Contingency theory and the Miles and Snow’s strategic model are discussed in
Chapter 5. Chapter 6 outlines the methodology of the study. The results are presented in
chapter 7 followed by chapter 8, which presents the discussion of the findings. Chapter 9
critiques the Miles & Snow strategic framework and proposes a model of strategic typology
for nonprofit organizations. Chapter 10 completes the dissertation with a summary of the
findings.
