The State of Sinaloa is located in north-western Mexico. It
has 12 dams, which were built primarily for irrigation and
for domestic water supply. Nile Tilapia has been traditionally
fished in some dams. However, in recent years, floating
cages made of metal frames and 1-in. mesh nets have
been installed in water reservoirs and stocked with sexually
reversed fish fry. Three dams were selected to collect
Nile tilapia; the dams were selected according to the date
of seeding, the number of farms, the number and size of
floating cages in each farm, the information about health
status and sanitary management
